Things to ask your AI

Ready-to-use requests for recording demos, bug reproductions, uploads and transcripts, and what a good result looks like.

Ask in plain words. Your AI plans the flow, uses test data (never your real accounts), pauses the recording while it thinks, and stops so the editor opens. Apps that support MCP prompts also offer record_feature, a guided version of the first workflow.

Record a feature

Record a short demo of signing up and signing in on localhost:3000.

Success: the video opens in Recordful's editor, and your AI says in a sentence or two what it shows.

If you just built the feature, say so: "I just built the billing page. Record a short video of how it works." Your AI reads your recent changes to decide what to show.

Record a bug reproduction

Reproduce this bug on staging and record it. Stop as soon as the error appears.

Your AI shows you its plan first and asks before it records. Sign in yourself on the tab first if the bug needs a real account; it never types your credentials.

Share it (Recordful Pro)

Upload that and give me the link. Make it private.

Success: you get the watch link and the edit link, and the upload has finished before your AI says so. A recording made while signed in to Pro goes to the cloud as it records, so there may be nothing left to upload.

Read it back (Recordful Pro)

What did I say in the last recording? Write it up as release notes.

Success: the text comes from the real transcript (the first request starts transcription and waits for it). Your AI can also return captions as VTT.

Check your library (Recordful Pro)

List my last five videos and tell me which one is still processing.

Manage your library (Recordful Pro)

Rename my last video to "Checkout flow v2" and make it visible to my team.

Make a folder called "Release demos" and move my last three videos into it.

What are people saying about my last video? Summarise the comments.

Reply to the first comment saying we fixed it in v2.

Your AI shows you exactly what it will change and waits for your yes before it renames, changes who can watch, comments, creates a folder, moves videos or deletes. Comments are public to everyone who can watch the video, so check the wording. Deleting is permanent, so it names the exact video and asks first. Reading views, likes and comments, listing folders and checking storage change nothing.

On the free plan

Recording, driving the page and the editor all work. When you ask for a link or transcript, your AI tells you once that they come with Recordful Pro and carries on.

Tips

  • Name the page or URL to start on, and say what a good ending looks like.
  • Ask for a shot list first if you want to approve the steps.
  • Set the mode, microphone and camera in Recordful's popup before you start. Your AI uses your saved settings and doesn't change them.
