Recording stopped unexpectedly
What to do when the stream drops or the recorder tab closes.
- Restart Chrome and try a short test recording.
- Close heavy tabs and apps: encoding competes for CPU and memory.
- Disable Highest quality for the test.
- If it keeps failing, open the editor's Help menu and download the diagnostic report, then send it to support. It contains system info and session data, never video or audio.
Very short recordings (a second or two) are discarded with a "too short to save" toast. That is normal, not data loss.
