Why is there a 5-minute limit for editing?
Local editing is capped by your device, and what still works on long videos.
Recordful edits on your device so recordings stay private. Re-encoding a long video locally would take very long and strain the machine, so editing and MP4 export are unavailable past about 5 minutes. What still works:
- Download the WebM or the raw video file as-is.
- If the recording is a native MP4 (fast recorder), MP4 download still works, only in-browser editing is off.
- You can accept the risk and try processing anyway from the dialog, but expect it to be slow.
Pro removes the practical ceiling: the cloud editor processes long videos server-side.
