Technical requirements

What version of Chrome you need and which pages cannot be recorded.

  • Google Chrome 110 or newer on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, or Linux. Custom area recording needs Chrome 104 at minimum.
  • A camera and microphone only if you want to record them. Screen-only recording needs neither.
  • At least 1 GB of free space before a recording starts. Long recordings stream to disk, so free space matters more than RAM.

Chrome does not allow extensions on some pages (the Web Store, chrome:// pages, new-tab pages on some setups). If you open the popup there, Recordful says the tab is not supported. Start the recording from another tab and switch back once it begins. Camera and toolbar overlays stay hidden on those pages.
