Getting started
Why does Recordful ask for permissions?
What each Chrome permission is used for and what Recordful never does with it.
Recording requires access to the thing being recorded. That is the whole list:
- Capture your screen, tab, camera, and microphone. Only used when you press record, to produce the video and audio you asked for.
- Read the current page. Only to draw the recording toolbar, camera bubble, countdown, and annotation canvas over the page you are recording.
- Storage. Keeps your recordings in the browser on your device so long videos work offline.
- Downloads. Saves the MP4, WebM, or GIF you export.
- Keep the device awake. Prevents sleep in the middle of a recording.
What Recordful does not do: no browsing history collection, no page content reading, nothing transmitted anywhere. Free recordings stay on your device unless you export them or, with Pro, upload them. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
